Outreach
Bosnian Genocide Educational Trust uses survivor stories to create programmes that aim to challenge the perceptions of social justice, morality and human rights. These programmes allow more opportunity for deeper engagement and personal reflection for participants. We have worked with many organisations, charities, schools, and colleges allowing individuals to hear first-hand testimony and to date we have reached approximately 100,000 people since we began our work. There are a number of options for including a survivor speaker in your educational event.
Survivor Talks
We have a range of survivor speakers who can provide one-off talks of various lengths depending on the project or event you have in mind. We can provide speakers for both in-person events and online specific to your requirements.
Typically our speakers are prepared to speak for anywhere between 10 - 60 minutes. We can focus our talks around a particular theme or topic if required and have experience in speaking to a wide range of age groups from primary school children to adults and elderly. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss how you could include a survivor speaker in your event.

Human Library Workshop
Our Human Library Workshop provides a safe space for dialogue where participants are provided the opportunity to speak with survivors one on one. The aim of this workshop is to facilitate in-depth conversations to aid understanding of topics that can sometimes be difficult to talk about. This workshop can be accommodated in-person or online and can have one or more survivors depending on your requirements. These workshops can also be organised for specific events and focused on different themes including Holocaust Memorial Day, National Refugee Week, and Srebrenica Memorial Day.

Making Peace: Schools Programme
The Making Peace Schools Programme is a 5 week educational programme based on a book by the Making Peace Project, "Making Peace: A Refugee's Story" about Smajo Beso's life in Bosnia during the war and his journey to the UK in 1994 as a 9 year old refugee.
The programme was developed in collaboration with Show Racism the Red Card and delivered by their highly skilled and experienced educational workers.

Study Trips
Our study trips to Bosnia provide an opportunity to take part in a unique learning experience where participants will be challenged to think critically about the genocide and its contemporary relevance to us here in the UK.
The trips include guided visits to historical sites, meeting survivors as well as an opportunity to learn about programmes and initiatives that aim to deal with this difficult past.
